Describe the consistency of lithium batteries

2018-04-11

The consistency of lithium batteries, at the moment, refers to the convergence of important characteristic parameters of a group of lithium batteries. It is a relative concept, not the most consistent, only more consistent. In the same battery pack of multiple battery cells, each parameter, it is best to all in a small range, is good consistency.

When time dimension is added, consistency refers to the consistency of all characteristic parameters in the whole life cycle of all cells in the battery pack, and the inconsistency of capacity attenuation, internal resistance growth and aging rate is taken into account. The lifetime of the entire battery pack is our ultimate focus on consistency.

Some scholars put the interaction between parameters on a graph according to the passage of time. The time is on the horizontal axis, and the parameter is on the vertical axis. Several parameters are put into a table with the change of time, which interweaved into a network, as the starting point for our thinking about consistency.

The goal of consistency is not only to maximize the capacity of the battery pack (including maximum power, maximum current, and maximum available capacity) in the current state, but also to maintain such capacity for as long as possible.
